Looking for a new slant on stripes? Then take a tilt at the Diagonal Striped Garter Stitch Loop. Two simple knitting staples—garter stitch and stripes—are mesmerizingly angled around this woolly circle. The irregular repeating bands have the tiniest hint of candy cane and are equally enthralling on the ‘wrong’ side.

The Details

FINISHED SIZE
Approx. 8" deep x 46" circumference/20 x 117cm, after blocking.

YARN
1 skein each of 2 colors of (131 yds/120 yds each). Designate colors A and B (our sample used Color A = Color 72170 Cerulean Mix, Color B = Color 7289 Charcoal).

NEEDLES & NOTIONS
US 10.5 (6.5mm) needle, or size to obtain gauge.
US H/8 or I/9 (5 or 5.5mm) crochet hook and smooth waste yarn for provisional cast-on.
Spare needle gauge size or smaller.
2 locking stitch markers.
Blunt darning needle to finish.

GAUGE
Approx. 13 sts = 4" in garter stitch.
